Ramakrishna Math, Antpur is situated in the village Antpur under the district of Hooghly in West Bengal. This is the holy birth place of Swami Premananda Maharaj, a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna deva and was been sanctified by the holy presence of Sri Ramakrishnadeva, Holy Mother Sarada Devi and Swamiji along with other brother disciples.

          In commemoration of 24th December 1886 when Swami Vivekananda and other eight direct disciples of Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna Deb took vow for “Atmano Mokhartham and Jagdhitya cha” with Remiciation and Service, we observed this event in 2013-14 with three day long festival. Thousands of people participated in this celebration. Noon Prasad was distributed to 20,000 devotees during the festival.

(VIII) Annual celebration in memory of TYAGAVRATA
(IX) Observation of Youth Day and other programmes in connection with 15th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda

The branch also undertook the following welfare activities :


Allopathy Dispensary: During the year 4,623 number of patients among them new- 3,263 and old- 1,360 were treated. (Male- 1,497, Female- 2,628 and Child- 498).

Homeopathy Dispensary: During the year 6,169 number of patients among them new- 1,383 abd old- 4,786 were treated. (Male- 1,890, Female- 3,374 and Child- 905).

Mobile Dispensary: 4,485 patients were treated by the Mobile Dispensary and they were served with Allopathy Medicines at free of cost.

Cataract Surgery: With the help of Lions club, Tallygunge, Kolkata107 patients were operated during 2013-14.

Distribution of Spectacles at free of cost: During the year158 of spectacles were freely distributed.

Blood Donation Camp: A blood donation camp was organized by Ramakrishna Mission, Sevapratishthan, Kolkata during the year and 44 donors donated their blood.


Coaching Centre: The special coaching programme in order to upgrade the merit of the local boys and girls through our coaching centre was conducted regularly. During the year under review the following students participated.

Sishunikatan          90 boys,(Class I-IV)

Nivedita Sangha –   92 girls,  (Class I-V)

Higher Section    – 128 boys  (Class V-X)

          A Book Bank is also maintained to provide books to the needy students from Class V to Degree courses. During the year we distributed books among 1155 students involving the cost of Rs.44,703.00 only.

          During this year a sum of Rs.59,160.00  was spent in terms of scholarship to 51 poor students for continuing their studies.

          A Library with 612 books of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Vedanta literature is maintained.


          This centre undertook the following schemes to alleviate the poverty of the local people.

Cloth Distribution: During the year 2013-14, 1,721 pcs. cloths were distributed among the poor people and spent Rs.3,28,558.00.

Blanket Distribution: During this year a sum of Rs.2,57,000.00 was spent in terms of blanket distribution and 2,000 pcs. blankets were distributed.

Pecuniary Help: During the year monetary help paid to 21 poor and Rs.36,558.00 was spent for this purpose.

Under Self Employment Scheme following instruments worth of Rs.3,00,000.00 were distributed among the poor and working people.

Sewing Machine – 5 pcs.

Van Rickshaw – 6 pcs.

Weaving set – 5 pcs.

Chorka – 15 pcs.

Dhadda – 94 pcs.

Self Reliant Scheme

Dhadda – 25 pcs. were distributed and Rs.40,000.00 was spent.
